Unpublished Poetry Chapbooks
Guidelines for Submissions
The poetry chapbook category is open to poets who currently reside in San Diego County and who have never had a book of poems published. A chapbook is a 10-page collection of poetry by one writer. Poems should be single-spaced and printed in a common 12-point font.
All entrants shall submit three copies of their chapbook manuscript. The writer’s name should not appear anywhere on the manuscript. A cover page including the title of the work, the writer’s name, address, phone number, and email address (if available) should accompany each submitted manuscript.
More than one chapbook by the same author may be submitted, but each submission must be accompanied by a separate submission form, waiver, and submission fee.
Number of Copies: Authors must submit three copies of each manuscript.
Submission form: A completed, signed, and dated submission form must accompany each submission.

Fee: A nonrefundable submission fee of $10 must accompany each chapbook submission. Make checks payable to: San Diego Book Awards Association, Inc.
Deadline: All chapbook manuscripts, submission forms, and fees must be received by February 23, 2013 (deadline extended).
Notification: Finalists will be notified in advance of the awards ceremony, which will be held in June 2013. All finalists and category winners will be honored at the awards ceremony. Winners and finalists will be promoted on the SDBAA web site: http://www.sdbookawards.org.
